About Us

Fully charged and shockingly delicious. Born in Sonoma County, CA.

Here’s our story…and look, we had a few when we recounted this tale, but I’m pretty sure this is how it goes.

It’s late 2021. Our head brewmaster was tipping a few beers back in his shop after a long day wiring as a professional electrician. Our creative director happened upon a spare appliance cord (picture something you plug into a wall, but the other end is just open wire). He said to our brewmaster, “What’d ya think would happen if we plugged this in and dropped it into our favorite IPA?” Despite the warnings from the brewmaster, the director went ahead and charged his favorite IPA (DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME). The result - nothing, the director got shocked and the beer went to shit.

It was in that moment that the brewmaster said, “Why don’t we just brew shocking delicious beer instead of ruining our favorites?” The director, after he was done convulsing, agreed that the brewmaster’s idea was probably better. Thus, ElectroShock Brewing was born.

Meet the characters of this story below. This story may be slightly fictional. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

  • Rick - Head Brewmaster

A professional electrician in the field, a brewmaster in the garage. We cannot confirm or deny that his shop has been home to a brew or two…but we can confirm Rick makes delicious home brew. Rick got his beginnings in beer by consumption. He started his beer making with a 5 gallon pot and a home brew kit. By training with some local leaders and the best YouTube has to offer, Rick has set himself apart by being the only electrician in Sonoma County that also brews beer. Pretty unique if you ask me.

  • John - Creative Director

Practicing public safety, finance, and real estate did not set John up for a beginning in brewing or managing this website. Let’s be honest, John’s still looking for a career he can put all his eggs in the basket of, but he realized something along this journey - each of his careers had led him to enjoy a craft beer after a long days work. So maybe this time, he’s figured out what he’s doing. Maybe not. John has practiced alongside Rick since the beginning of ElectroShock and is developing his skills as a brewer. Rick doesn’t let him touch the power cords still, but he does get to stir the mash from time to time.

  • Carie - Graphic Design

Carie makes the brand come to life. With her creative talent, she makes the ElectroShock name shine true. From our t-shirt, to our logo, and beer bottle design, Carie makes it happen. She all works part time as a beer taster for the company. And full time a professionally trained pastry chef. Look for some sweet treats and beer pairings in the future…for now we have to figure out how to brew this stuff.
